Sabine Mireille Laguna
January 17, 1964 – June 6, 2014

On June 6, 2014, Sabine Mireille Laguna passed away from complications after a vigorous and courageous two-year battle against brain cancer. In her amazing time in this life, Sabine touched so many people with her love of life, beauty, grace, joy and charm. She was confident, spoke several languages, and had an innate sense of style as displayed in one of her last passions and business ventures – Envie Boutique on the Portofino Boardwalk. As co-founder of Premier Island Management Group, Sabine and her husband, Rob Babcock, set out to create a company that embodied their vision, values and passions. In 2008, they moved their family to Pensacola Beach and left their positions at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida to make their dreams a reality. Portofino Island Resort and Pensacola Beach became their home and merged their lives and legacies with their vision for a property management company that would set the industry standard. Sabine’s legacy is so much more than her business contributions. She is celebrated by those who knew her and those who simply know of her for her kindness, compassion and love – the gift of life well lived. Sabine is survived by her husband, Rob, and their two beautiful daughters, Zoe and Sofie. Our race is run with Sabine’s memory in our hearts and the hope that one day we may find a cure for this aggressive cancer; and prolong and better the lives of those battling it today.
